It's August, and inevitably, classes are starting and summer is over. But that doesn't mean the fun of summer has to stop even though tuition is due and the wallet is a little light. Here's something to do each day of the week that won't break the bank.

Sunday: Find everything you've ever thought you wanted and more at the Maxwell Street Market, one of Chicago's only still-surviving open air market. From fresh fruit to tools and electronics, pretty much everything can be found at a reasonable price. And, in the tradition of open air markets, prices are debatable. Maxwell Street Market is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday at Canal and Roosevelt. Bus: #12 Roosevelt.

Monday: A trip to nearby Bridgeport will take you to Unique Thrift Store, whose 1?2 price Mondays are unbeatable. Unique is a meticulously organized thrift store whose prices are slightly expensive for a secondhand shop; however, the 1?2 price deal cannot be beat. Unique is located at 3000 S. Halsted. Bus: #8 Halsted.

Tuesday: The AMC City North theater on Western Avenue and Logan Boulevard holds a $5 movie night every Tuesday. For just $5 the theater plays first-run movies and even throws in a bag of small popcorn. The theater is located at 2600 N. Western. Blue Line: Western Stop; #9 Western.

Wednesday: Wednesday is Open Mic Night at Cafe Mestizo in the heart of Pilsen. The event at this small, brightly painted coffee shop is free and the coffee is great. Cafe Mestizo is located at 1646 W. 18th St. Pink Line: 18th St. stop.

Thursday: The Art Institute stopped doing free Tuesdays, but they replaced that with Free Thursday and Friday nights. Starting after 5 p.m., take in all of the treasures that one of Chicago's best art museums has to offer. Blue/Red Line: Monroe stop.

Friday: The last Friday of each month, bike enthusiasts gather in Daley Plaza for a long bike ride into the city's neighborhoods. This critical mass of cyclists take to the streets and bike somewhere, as routes are usually decided the day of the ride. Blue Line: Washington stop.

Saturday: Too Much Light Makes the Baby go Blind is currently the longest running show in Chicago, and with good reason-it's hilarious. Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind is a whirlwind of 30 short, 2-minute plays performed in just 60 minutes. Too Much Light Makes the Baby go Blind starts at 11:30 p.m. and is $7, plus roll of a six sided die. The Neo-Futurarium is located at 5153 N. Ashland. Bus: #9 Ashland, #22 Clark.
